My Story
I'm Daphne Scott — a wedding and portrait photographer based in Portland, Oregon, shooting across the Pacific Northwest and destination weddings worldwide.
I first picked up a camera before I could even remember. Growing up in a creative family meant observing how documenting precious moments happens and developing love for photography. I am captivated by preserving moments of pure joy and love. It's truly the best thing in the world.
In high school I attended a digital media & design charter program where I learned the fundamentals of photo and video editing, lighting, composition, and more. I got to loan cameras whenever I wanted, and I definitely took advantage of this perk. I did photoshoots with my friends and at church whenever I could.
I got into professional photography as I graduated from Portland State University with my Bachelor's in Marketing in 2022. I purchased my dream camera body and lens and got straight to work capturing seniors, families, weddings, and everything inbetween.
I've been shooting weddings for 4 years now and love every minute of it. There is something so special about capturing the moment when two become one. I photograph weddings all across the United States, and take on destination wedding photography as well.
Photography has been such a gift that has become my full-time job. I love all the people I meet, the memories saved, and the milestones shared.
My Style
My style sits somewhere between editorial and classic. I will prompt and pose you but also capture the spontaneous moments. I'm chasing light, reading the room, and making sure the photos you get back actually look like your day felt.
My editing style is true to life, bringing out the best tones to make a visual harmony. I often mix in a bit of documentary whimsy for a twist. I like to say that my style looks how drinking a lemonade on a sunny day feels. I look for the beauty in every moment and ensure it is captured to the best of my ability.
I love walking along side you leading up to your wedding day helping you plan things out, cheering you on, and being your advisor when you need it. You have a friend in me before, during, and after your wedding day.
